The following information is provided as a public
service to the citizens of Southern Alberta, in particular the residents of
Picture Butte. It is intended for educational purposes only.

be fooled this is mush more deadly that any feedlot, this information will
be particularly useful to the residents of Picture Butte.

What you can do
- At the first whiff of trouble firstly evacuate
all human life, if you have time any pets can also be removed at the same
time, you may notice that once you have evacuated the area that there will
be a total lack of birds , cats, dogs and other domestic and wild animals in
the area, this is because animals have a far superior sense of smell and
have the ability to sense danger.
- If you find yourself trapped, close all doors and
open all exterior windows taking care to seal up the crack under the door,
this can be done by using a jacket, towel or any other piece of cloth. If
you don't have any cloth, you can use paper to close the crack. If you find
yourself trapped in a room with no windows, you should immediately get on
the floor as the air there should be breathable. Once on the floor work you
way towards safety (outside). This method had been proven to work extremely
well in fire situations.
- Never attempt to re-enter the building until you
are certain that the trouble has passed. If entry of the building is
required it should only be undertaken by trained professionals who have the
latest in protective gear capable of allowing them to work in the area
without having to breath contaminated air.
- If you come across someone that has been exposed remove
the victim to fresh air.
- Never allow stranger to use your washrooms
- Insure that all unattended washrooms are locked
- Teach your children to never let some strange man
use your washroom, at home or school. Case should be taken not to scare your
children, just let then now how serious it could be if this this creature is
allowed to infest your home or school. You might want to say things like
"How would you like to have to move out of the house for a week, or how
would you like to go to school at another school" When talking with
children be sure to that this is not life threatening it will just make them
- Education is the only sure means of prevention,
its is suggested that all schools perform regular drills so all staff and
students now what do in case of attack.
- Schools should take care to educate new students
and staff of the danger and what to look for, new staff and students could
vary easily unwittingly expose others to danger.

a Caretaker, Hockey Player, Welder, or even a Friend.
